Appearance

Passing Amelia on the streets of Stormwind, you probably wouldn’t give her a second glass. A plainly dressed young woman, no more attractive than average, she might be a shop assistant or a junior clerk in Stormwind’s bureaucracy. Amelia is quite content not to be noticed. If you try to talk to her, you would find her pleasant and polite but rather evasive when it comes to personal matters and if you are particularly perceptive you might notice her bland smile never quite reaches her cold yellowish green eyes. 

History

Amelia was born in Lordaeron, the child of refugees from Stormwind, her father died before they could return and her mother worked herself to death trying to rebuild Stormwind and provide for her daughter. Their deaths left young Amelia with a burning core of rage and resentment against the Horde, Stormwind, and anyone who had looked down on a poor but bright girl with a talent for magic. 

She learned to lie, to feign gratitude, to flatter, to conceal her hatred, and that was enough to get her an education. Perhaps she did not conceal quite enough, the denizens of the Slaughtered Lamb took her in and instead of the cold, precise formulae of arcane magic they taught her to channel her anger and her hatred into her magic. She proved to be disquietingly good at it.

Amelia avoids the Slaughtered Lamb these days, she finds its inhabitants to be too controlling and the coven’s unspoken agreements with the Stormwind authorities to be distasteful. She works a variety of odd jobs that give her free time and provides occasional magical services to customers who value discretion, a lack of scruples, and no questions. In her free time she practices obsessively working toward the day when she will be rich, powerful, and will take her revenge on everyone who has ever wronged her.

RP Hooks

• The Stormwind Underworld: Amelia does magical jobs for several criminal organizations and gangs. Her customers are all small timers since she doesn't have the rep or the skills to take on the really big and profitable jobs, not yet anyway. Small time crooks looking for some magical muscle might know of her.

• The Defias Brotherhood: Amelia's mother was a stonemason and (unknown to her) one of the original members of what would become the Defias. As far as she's concerned, they're a customer with too much baggage who takes too long to pay. Defias members might know her as a magical resource or source of information.

• The Slaughtered Lamb: Amelia is technically a member of the Slaughtered Lamb coven although she rarely shows up there. They keep an eye on her but don't regard her as a problem. They'd cheerfully sacrifice her to keep the Stormwind authorities happy, of course. Other warlocks probably know of her as a capable journeyman who really should be more involved in coven politics if she wants to advance.

• SI:7: Stormwind's intelligence arm/secret police have a file on Amelia. It's thin, since she's too small time to be really interesting, but she does have a lot of questionable associations and might get leaned on for information or a small "favor."
