Born in the majestic halls of Grim Batol before its tragic fall to dragonfire and darkness, Maire Ironguard was carried south as an infant when her people were forced into exile. Her father, a proud Wildhammer Thane of the Ironguard clan, led his displaced kin to Stormwind City to seek sanctuary. Raised within the grand human capital, Maire spent her youth steeped in both the rich traditions of her displaced people and the bustling life of the human city.

By the age of 18, Maire had grown into a fiery, battle-ready warrior of the Ironguard, wielding shield and axe to honor her father’s legacy and protect her clan's standing in their adopted home.

That standing was put to the test when a union was proposed between Maire and Malachi Zerbe, the mage son of a noble Viscount. Orchestrated primarily as a political arrangement to solidify ties, secure influence, and strengthen alliances between their families, the match was rooted in duty rather than romance. Maire’s father gave his blessing to secure his clan's future, and Maire accepted her role with the stoic pride of an Ironguard warrior.
