How to Roleplay

[Established Lore] What the game has always held to be true.

Roleplay

Night elves are easy to play as aloof and mysterious. That's the trap. Your night elf is mortal, newly met, and still working out what the rest of the world thinks of them.

Start With Immortality

Your night elf lost their immortality at Hyjal [WCIII]. Were you there? Did you live ten thousand years before it, or are you young? How you feel about being mortal shapes everything.

Character Hooks

  • A Sentinel who fought the Horde in Ashenvale.
  • A druid of the Cenarion Circle who thinks Fandral is moving too fast.
  • A priestess of Elune with a quiet crisis of faith.
  • A Darkshore hunter watching the sickness spread.
  • A young night elf who has never seen a human before.
  • A survivor of Mount Hyjal.
  • A messenger for the Oracle Tree.

Rules of Thumb

  • Do not play Tyrande, Malfurion, Fandral or Illidan. They belong to the world.
  • Under no circumstances should your night elf be a mage or a warlock. Sorcery is forbidden to all [Game · Quest: Crown of the Earth].
  • Don't play your night elf as a seasoned diplomat. They only met humans and orcs a few years ago, when the Third War found them in Ashenvale.
  • Your night elf is mortal. Let them feel it.
  • Stick to established lore, and check the Forever pages for Mount Hyjal.
