How to Roleplay
[Established Lore] What the game has always held to be true.
Roleplay
Tauren are the gentle giants of the Horde. That's the easy read. Give your tauren more than that: a tribe, a land, and something they're afraid to lose.
Start With Your Tribe
Bloodhoof, Grimtotem, Runetotem, or one of the smaller tribes? That decides where you live, who you trust, and how Thunder Bluff treats you.
Character Hooks
- A young tauren still working through the Rites of the Earthmother.
- A hunter of Hunter Rise who thinks the old ways are slipping.
- A kodo herder from Camp Taurajo.
- A veteran of Mount Hyjal.
- A Bloodhoof Village guard fighting the Palemane gnolls.
- A Grimtotem who left the clan.
- An elder's student who doesn't trust the Forsaken pact.
- A traveler to Shen'Dralas [New in Forever], looking for answers.
Rules of Thumb
- Do not play Cairne, Baine, or Magatha. They belong to the world.
- Do not make cow jokes. Not now, not ever. The tauren take their ancestors and their land seriously, and so should you.
- Tauren are gentle, but fierce when roused. Let your character be both.
- Tauren don't waste what the land gives them. Neither should your character.
- Stick to established lore, and check the Forever pages for Shen'Dralas.
Classes in Character
- Warrior: a border guard who hunts centaur.
- Hunter: the highest honor among the tauren, a provider for the tribe.
- Shaman: a seer of the Earth Mother, with totems at your side.
- Druid: a student of the Runetotem tradition.
