Argent Dawn
[Established Lore] What the game has always held to be true.
An order of every race and creed, sworn to destroy the Scourge in the Plaguelands. Light's Hope Chapel is its stronghold.
At a Glance
- Purpose: end the Scourge and its plague in Lordaeron
- Stronghold: Light's Hope Chapel, Eastern Plaguelands
- Members: any race of the Alliance or the Horde
- Currency: Scourgestones, taken from the dead
History
The Argent Dawn rose out of the wreck of the Third War. The Scourge had taken Lordaeron, and nobody could afford to fight each other and the dead too. So the Light's survivors made an order that asked for no banner. [WoW Classic · Plaguelands quests]
Its soldiers collect Scourgestones from the undead, and the order pays for them in kind. That is the whole economy. Kill the dead, bring back the proof, get a mantle.
Where to Find Them
Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands is the heart of the order, and Chillwind Camp in the Western Plaguelands is its southern post. [Game · Quest: Argent Dawn Commission] [Game · Quest: Lord Maxwell Tyrosus] [Game · Quest: Mantles of the Dawn]
Playing a Member
- Your character fights the Scourge, not the other faction. Keep that.
- Alliance and Horde members stand together here. That is the point of the order.
- Do not play a member who has won. The Plaguelands are still lost.
- Argent Dawn is not the Scarlet Crusade. If your character cannot say why, rework them.

Light's Hope Chapel
Light's Hope Chapel is a small church on a hill, and the last safe place in a dead country. Highlord Tirion Fordring leads the order from here, and Lord Maxwell Tyrosus runs the day to day. [Game · Quest: Lord Maxwell Tyrosus]
It is a rule of the chapel that nobody asks which banner you serve. They ask if you can fight.
